Liz Lord's first turn on the stage was as Eleanor Billington in South Valley Elementary School's [Moorestown, NJ] production of The First Thanksgiving. She developed the acting bug in 5th Grade as one of the King of Siam's children in Moorestown High School's [NJ] production of The King and I. It was during these early pursuits that Liz's enjoyment and love of the theater developed.
Since those early days Liz has grown into a successful actress and has had roles in, among others, Sweeney Todd, Fiddler on the Roof, The Sound of Music, Grease [Marty], Guys and Dolls [Adelaide], Godspell [Lamar], Talk to Me Like the Rain and Let Me Listen [Woman], and SubUrbia [Sooze]. Liz has performed in theaters throughout the Northeast including The York Theater, Rockaway Park Playhouse, Greenwich Street Theater, Music Man's Children's Theater, the Brooklyn Theater Arts Project, the Brooklyn Lyceum, and the Silver Bay Playhouse.
Liz received a BA in Theater Arts from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, studying under Charles Holmond. She has continued her studies under Susan Patrick, John Astin, and Dana Tarantino in New York. Liz is trained in the design and technical aspects of theater and has directed multiple stage productions.
A resident of Brooklyn, NY, Liz is a member of the Screen Actors Guild of America and has appeared in commercials for thetruth.com, Cannon Cameras, and the VanDuzer Inn; in the television series Law & Order Criminal Intent and Law & Order SVU; in a music video for recording artist Aleek; the independent films Never in Our Town, Duckhunt, Social Grace, and All Fall Down; and the upcoming feature film The Good Shepherd.
Liz has also modeled in print ads for Abercrombie & Fitch, Linda Lingerie Boutique [Staten Island, NY], Edward's Restaurant [New York City], and Yakov Ezra Photography. She can currently be heard as a narrator for the installation "Passages" on exhibit on the Staten Island Ferry.
